Turn Pro Christopher Eubanks (Big Man)

Eubanks should go pro.

He played well against Fritz and Donaldson.   Fritz is a power player and Donaldson was a more solid version of Fritz and Donaldson had more training on the red clay so you can tell he plays with more margin of error.    In the end, Harrison was too strong and crafty for Eubanks.   Also, it was clear that Eubanks was not “on his game” against Harrison.    In his match against Fritz and Donaldson,  Eubanks played well by dominating with power tennis.   Big serving and big forehands.   He is 6 foot 8.   He should be able to crack more aces and hit more serves that are unreturnable.   if he has the desire then he should go Pro,  If Karlovic and Isner can do it then Eubanks can do it.      It was a great display by Eubanks and I think he could win more by “going for broke more often”    Attacking when his opponent is serving and going for aces in his game similar to Karlovic and Isner.   Also, Eubanks has a good one-handed backhand and a good slice.   He should continue to get up to the net.

I was happy with how Eubanks played and I hope he will keep playing more tournaments.  He has the game right now to be around the top 60 or top 70 of the ATP and he is going to have to “grind” to pull his game up to the top 30!   But Isner and Karlovic could do it.

The Omnipotent God

One key thing to understand is that God is all-seeing and all-knowing.  HE knew I was going to write this post before I wrote it and he did not strike me down.  I feel #blessed that I am still alive to write this post and the almighty lord of everything did not destroy me with his might.

DJ ROBO BISCUIT takes offense to the idea of God as well as Organized Religion as a whole.  The Biscuit shows some love to eastern religions but The Wise Biscuit is a truer defender of “forethought” as well as “skepticism.”

IF God is all-powerful then whey does he not destroy evil?

IF God is all-seeing and all-knowing why did he not alert the American Christians about the incoming attack on Pearl Harbor?

IF God is all-powerful then why did he not destroy the Nazis?  Also, why did he allow so many Jewish people to get slaughtered?

Another hypothetical, if in the world there were only 1000 Christians and they were in a jihad (holy war) against one million Satanists, then … would God step in and destroy the Satan-worshippers?

Or in theory, if there were only a handful of Christians left and they were in danger of death, would God step in to save their lives?

Does God also love the Ku Klux Klan?     It seems the KKK is full of God and full of wrath but does God like them?

If God is all-seeing and all-knowing and all-powerful then why does he not step in and kill men who are serial killers before these man commit any crimes?

Essentially why does God allow tragedy to occur if HE is so powerful?

Also, furthermore, if God is all-powerful and all-knowing then why do people need to donate money at Church?  Can’t God just conjure (summon) money to the Church?

UnNamed Dave – Part 7 – Dishwashers

Dave was busy calling.  He was trying to make many calls and hit a specific metric of calls.  One of the Sales Directors had told him he needs to make contact with a specific account, the account being Swiss and large.  He was hustling to get in contact but the company was Huge and he was getting bounced around inside his company.

Man on Phone:  Hello, you have reached Power Tools.

Dave:  Hello, I am trying to find a man named Williams.  I think he is a software developer.

Man on Phone:  This is Power Tools, let me transfer you.

(Dave waited)(beep beep music music)

New Man on Phone:  Hello.  Dishwashers!  How may I help you?

Dave:  Hello.  I am trying to find a man by the name of Williams.  He is a software developer in your company.

New Man on Phone:  You do know that this is Dishwashers correct?  We don’t make software in this department.

Dave:  Yes.  But I am trying to find a man by the name of Williams.  He is using some software from my company and I need to track this man down.

New Man on Phone:  Okay.  I am going to transfer you to Power Tools.

Dave:  No!  They transferred me to you.

New Man on Phone:  Okay.  Okay.  Williams you say?  Let me look that name up.

(tap tap tap keyboard sound)

New Man on Phone:  Okay.  There is a Williams in the USA actually.  Here is the number.

(Dave took down the number)

Dave:  Thank you sir.  (Hang up phone)

Dave dialed the number.  It was ringing.  It rang five times and went to voicemail.

New New Man on Phone voice:  Hello there.  You have reached Frank Williams at Facility Maintenance.  Please leave me a message and I will return your call when I get a chance.  Thank you.

Frank Williams sounded to be a man with a thick accent.  Dave did not want to judge this man by his voice but he had a feeling that he was not a software developer.

Dave let out a small sigh.  “20 minutes of work to find a facility maintenance man in the USA.  Not helpful.” Dave thought.

Dave still had many calls to make.

UnNamed Dave Part 5 – The Meeting

Dave entered the meeting room.

His teammates were there.  Dave was happy for a break from his work and staring at his screen.    His mind will enjoy a break in the meeting but he will still have to show discipline.

Dave is not excited to hear Max Power.  Max Power is a coked out douchebag sales trainer who the team has the pleasure of listening to on audiobook.  Mr Power has a bestselling book called the “The Big Action.”  He thinks the key to winning in sales is to relentlessly take Big Action and just attack everything with huge force.  Instead of making 20 phone calls, you should make 120 phone calls.  Instead of setting up 3 meetings, you should set up 30 meetings.  You get the idea.  The Sales Director with the typo emails is a big fan of Max Power.

“The Big Action” has about 13 chapters.  The book could have most likely been 2 or 3 chapters but there is a good amount of fluff and repeating of the same things.

Don’t be a loser man.  In this world you need to win win win.  When somebody tells me No I can feel that they want to say Yes and then I press hard!  This world has got winners and losers and you need to pick who you want to be.  I want to be a winner.  I’m winning all the time baby!  My editor told me I should not say this but I am going to anyway, Get off your fat ass and take The Big Action!  People will try to stop you but don’t let them.  You are being a loser!  The Big Action is what you need!  Is this your job or is this a career?  How will you feed your family?  You need that Big Action baby!  -Max Power

The above transcript is how much of the book is.  As Dave looks around the table it is hard for him to tell if his fellow workers are listening to Max Power or if they are simply daydreaming while staring at the table.

After they finish the chapter, their manager is ready to do some motivation.  The manager says, “Okay team I hope we are ready to do The Big Action!  It is important to me that we hit our numbers.  My goal is that everyday, we are on top of the number boards.  You each have 500 prospects so I don’t see why each of you can’t be on top of that number board.  When I was in your position, one time I was sad because I thought I may get fired and then that motivated me to work to keep my job!  So I want you guys to know, if you don’t work hard then the Sales Director may fire you.”

Dave was having an internal monologue: “What is this bullshit?  I think I need to start hunting for a new job where I am not being informed that I could be fired everyday.  This is not healthy.”

The manager continued on.  The manager was talking about the numbers and how to go about calling the prospects.

The manager looked at Dave.  “Dave do you know what you need?”

Dave:  What is that?

Manager:  Focus.

The Manager continued, “you need to have focus.  I can tell that when you are about to make a sale that you get mega focused on what you are about to sell.  But what you really need to do is focus on all of the prospects.  Once you can focus on one hundred at a time then you will be successful.”  The manager said this with emphasis as if there was a communication of deep meaning.  Clearly the manager did not see the conflict between the idea of focus and “shotgun-strategy” (or Wide-Net approach).

Dave thought: “Oh okay I get it.  Instead of Focusing on one or two things, I need to focus on one hundred things.  Wow!  Makes perfect sense.”

The Manager continued to talk for a little bit.  “Okay team let’s go make some calls!”

As Dave got up to walk out the door he was thinking to himself, “My job hunt begins tonight.”

Thoughts on Self-Help

Check out this post from Philosophy For Life

Self-help: a religion for capitalists

Very well written and combines good areas like Hubbard to Robbins to Zigler

Is it Self-Help or is it a Religion?

Also, the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene says one of the rule is to “Create a Cult Like Following”
