Pokemon Challenge update (RED AND BLUE)

The Pokemon challenge is continuing on.

My Magikarp is still a Magikarp, but only 5 levels away from becoming Gyrados.

Soon I need to get rid of my Wartortle and begin the challenge in Ernest.

I have not defeated LT Surge yet.   But I do have BEDROLL and Pidgeotto and I have the Magikarp.

I JUST acquired CHANSEY!!!   I used the Chansey glitch in order to get a level 7 Chansey.  My game plan is to teach Chansey TOXIC deep in the game and I might also teach Chansey Seismic Toss.

I know for sure I need to use chansey   GYRADOS   PIDGEOT   Poliwrath and BEE DRILL.  the Sixth pokemon is up in the air, but it can’t be too powerful.  I’m leaning towards using a HAUNTER maybe.  but I am open to suggestions!!!

The main caveat is that none of my pokemon can know THUNDERBOLT or EARTHQUAKE or ICE BEAM as those moves are too strong.

Pokemon Challenge (Red and Blue)(Biscuit)

For my Pokemon Red I am challenging myself once again!   I find the game to be too easy for a player who knows the game.  If you have a Blastoise/Charizard and you get a Pidgeot, you play the game …. you eventually get a Snorlax and then you probably get a Zapdos or maybe an Articuno.  You can even use the Master ball to get one of those birds.  If you have a leveled up Charizard and a Snorlax and a Zapdos then it is pretty easy to dominate the game.   If you have a pokemon that can use Earthquake or a pokemon that can use Ice Beam or a pokemon that can use Thunderbolt that also helps to make the game quite easy (Especially with Ice beam and Thunderbolt).

I did a previous run where I did not want to use my starter or any legendaries.  Usually if I could use Blastoise and Zapdos then the game was easy.   So in my previous run (   https://djrobobiscuit.com/tag/clefable/ )    I ran through the game using Clefable and Vaporeon and Kadabra.  But that team was too powerful, Clefable had Thunderbolt and Tri Attack,  Vaporeon had Ice beam and surf,  Kadabra had psychic attacks.    My team was still too powerful,  their stats were not amazing but their moves were too strong.

So now I am going to use an even weaker team and i’m going to use generally weaker moves.   My team is going to be:   Gyrados, Chansey, Pidgeot, Beedrill, Poliwhirl/Poliwrath,  and one other pokemon (I’m not 100% sure but I might use Haunter).     A person online recommended I try to use this team.     Beedrill is super weak in my opinion.     And Chansey has pretty weak stats for attacking but I think I am going to teach Chansey TOXIC.      And I will also not use ICE BEAM or THUNDERBOLT or EARTHQUAKE.

So we shall see if this team makes it harder to get through the game and beat the Elite four.   I think if Twitch can win then it is possible to succeed in many ways, they did obviously have Zapdos but they also had that Venomoth (The dragon slayer).

Motivation, Sport, and Fulfillment (Biscuit Post)

It is a great thing to feel alive.   A person can feel alive when they are moving and breathing and really feeling it.   And a person feels alive when they are “in” something when they can be in the FLOW of something real.    And a person can feel fulfillment when they are achieving or when they are doing something at the highest level.

I have felt my highest levels of success and greatness on a tennis court.  Even though I am not a great player I have had moments of success and moments of purity.  I have had moments when the pressure is on to perform and I did it. I have had moments when I was on the brink of defeat, but I was able to fight back and overcome.  Or I have had moments when people did not expect me to win and I could do it.

People can feel fulfilled when they are making progress and achieving.  Tennis is a great vehicle for that kind of thing. It is an individual game where one person has to go up against another one person.  And the game has different ways of tracking a person’s skill.   It can be the “ranking” or it can be the “rating” but you often can figure out where you stand in the game.

There is also a certain magic to the game in that you have the ability to truly “defeat” your opponent or defeat another person.  It is just one-on-one and it is a battle of skill.  Your skills against theirs.  And I think it is a lovely thing because you don’t get to fight it out like that in the real world.  But on a tennis court you can be a gladiator and battle tooth and nail to defeat your opponent.     The game has ego too, a person can be a big talker and think they are “hot stuff” but the best thing is you can challenge that person and play them one-on-one.  If you beat them, what can they say?  They can make excuses, but you can play them again.   If you play a person and you beat them 3 or 4 times in a row, how many excuses can they make?    And other people can witness it too because usually tennis matches are played in public.

And the game is so mental.  There is so much mental fortitude needed to win tennis matches, especially against other good players.

I could go on forever.   But a person needs motivation and sometimes tennis can serve as the vehicle through which to motivate and inspire.

Wants and Desires (Biscuit Post)

What do i want?

What do I live for?

What is the meaning of my own life?

Am i just supposed to have a job.  Get paid money and build my 401k.   Enjoy my health benefits?  Take my 2 weeks of vacation every year?  Try to avoid getting sick.      I just sit in front of my computer and listen and type and listen and type and console.

A person has to look inside themselves.    They need to see what gives them fulfillment.  What is that they can do and feel good about themselves?

A person is not meant to a machine’s job.   Or just type away at a computer or work on an assembly line.      Some they want to work with people.

I want to do work where I work with other people and help them.  I want to be a force of good and help others to help themselves.

There is a selfishness to being selfless.   There is that desire to help others because it makes you feel good inside.   But that is okay as long your behavior does not become toxic.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

An interesting film.  It was well shot (cinematography).  The plot is not overly complicated but the movie does have twists and turns.  The film has an interesting tone as well, definitely a “black comedy” as well as a drama.     The movie is an original idea and it is an entertaining film.   I don’t know if it is one of the BEST movies of 2017, but it was definitely a good movie and I would be willing to watch it a second time.

You might even like this film if you are from Missouri (or maybe maybe even North Carolina)

Rape On The Night Shift, Taking Advantage of the Working Poor

This builds off of the Me Too Movement.  There was an investigation done on the Janitorial industry.  It turns out that many of the janitors are women who work at night time and often by themselves.  And believe it or not, the industry has supervisors that take advantage of these workers.  Some of them don’t know their rights and some of them have fear of being deported.   If you are interested in this kind of story then check out the story from Nightline:

It is an interesting story and a good example of investigative journalism.
